Tony qualified from Liverpool University back in the ‘James Herriot’ days in 1979, as a consequence his first job was working in a mixed practice in Yorkshire.
It took three years before he escaped back to civilisation in the home counties. Tony has always been involved with large animals enjoying a mix of equine and cattle work with the odd reindeer thrown in for good measure.
Nowadays Tony spends 95% of his time in equine work and enjoys all aspects of equine medicine but has a particular soft spot for racing. Tony is married with two grown-up children; Lorna is a physiotherapist and Greg is working for a PR company. Di, his long suffering wife occasionally manages to trap him on a cruise ship to compensate for his tendency to over work!
In an attempt to retain his youth Tony competes in triathlons (short distance only) and can be seen running the roads of South Oxfordshire with the family Beagleador, Murphy. Murphy is well known in the local vicinity as he frequently runs off!
